2003A0038 - Monitoring the Electrical Activity at the Surface of the Cortex of the Brain - David Q. Beversdorf
Pain Code = 7D
Approval was given by ILACUC to use 6 macaque and 6 pigs. The purpose of this experiment is "to demonstrate that the proposed surface 'micro-grid' electrodes are capable of detecting the electrical activity at the surface of the cortex of the brain." The reseacher is "not necessarily concerned with the validity of the electrical data acquired but is more concerned with demonstrating that the novel 'microgrids' can be used to detect the electrical activity."
In an effort to reduce the overall number of animals used in this experiment; animals from other protocols will be utilized.
It is noted in the protocol that the animals will be killed after the data is collected.
