This protocol was approved to use 60 Siberian Hamsters

The protocol received a pain code of 3E, because the researchers are employing the resident-intruder paradigm.

From protocol 00A0117, the experimentor writes:

Uncontrolled aggression is a serious social problem. Several rodent models of aggression have been developed to understand how aggression is mediated in the brain. One goal of this type of work is to develop drug interactions to stop hyper-aggressiveness.
