2005A0203 - Effect of GnRH Antagonist on Primordial Follicle Survival - Douglas Danford
15 primates approved for this experiment which was given a pain code of 5D.
The experiment is to study the effects of estrogen on early follicle growth in the primate. The design is for one ovary to be removed. The primate is treated with GnRH antagonist antide for 14 days and then the other overy is removed.
Euthanasia of the animals is not expected.
This was shown to be true when in Oct. 2006, 5 cynomolgus were received from Worldwide Primates which is located in Miami, Florida, USDA License 58-B-0112.
The animals went through the procedures and all five (5) were sent to the University of Minnesota after the experimental time periiod.
