SCID mice 730 6-8 week female

ICR mice 560 6-8 week male

Transgenic mice 531 6-8 week male/female

Mice used for breeding and transgenics

Five different transgenic variations in breeding using 72 males/138 females with an expected offspring to be 1,952 progeny. Of that number 1,420 will be used with the rest being killed.

Transferring unused mice from the previous protocol adds 549 progeny with 480 mice actually used in the experiments the rest killed.

This is an "E" protocol because it is using the "Maximal tolerated Dose (MTD) procedure. This means it is possible that mice may die before the early criteria is met. Generally meeting the early criteria indicates a problem with the animal and it is killed.
