Approved on October 23, 1998 to use 4,400 mice.

Approved June 26, 2001 an additional 80 mice due to new procedure in this protocol. Will include Hyperbaric Hyperoxic Therapy (HHT), a component of another protocol (00A0174 - Chandan Sen) to determine if HHT would improve the effects of restraint stress on wound healing.

Approved December 18, 2003 an additional 80 mice to conduct pilot studies on the measurement of oxygen delivery to injured tissue. Restraint Stress will again be used in this pilot study. "We feel that it would be of value to conduct experiments wherein we would like to acquire data on oxygen levels in the wounds of the stressed animals using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) oximetry (protocol 02A0177)."
