World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week working for the liberation of animals from the laboratory

Demonstrations at Bricker Hall on the OSU - We had media coverage from ABC/Fox
and NBC stations.
From mice to hamsters. From rats to cats. From dogs to pigs.
From non-human primates to rabbits. All these animals and more are used and
killed daily in animal experimentation protocols on The Ohio State University
campus.
Various species of animals are used in a wide range of experiments at OSU which
include, but are not limited to: tumor growth; inducing stress with and without
drugs; running dogs on treadmills, sometimes to death; performing surgeries
on primates from which there will be no recovery; injecting mice with methamphetamines
to track the effect on their immune systems and aging; severing the spinal cords
of rats for educational tutorials; intubating and destroying cats for educational
tutorials; breeding transgenic mice where more than 50% of them will be
destroyed because they don't match a certain genetic model. Animals will be
made to smoke cigarettes, ingest drugs, and will be continually subjected to
countless stressful environments.
It is our belief that those who can perform these job descriptions that cause
so much misery, loneliness, pain and fear in millions of innocent animals, all
in the name of experimentation, must by necessity become inured to the suffering
of those left helplessly in their hands. The situation is not unlike workers
in slaughterhouses who, after time, don't hear the screams and don't see the
abject terror in the eyes of those they kill.
Its time to speak out! Time to speak out against these experiments and
demand they be stopped. Demand the experiment be justified. Is "because
weve always used a mouse, a rat, a cat, a primate, a dog, a hamster,a
rabbit, a guinea pig, a pig" justification?!?!?

of new information concerning animal care at OSU
4:00pm - 5:00pm - Neil Ave. & 11th - leaflet
And the next day OSU admitted to having animal care problems.

Wednesday April 26th
4:00pm - 5:30pm - 2001 Polaris Pkwy (turn right if exit going North on I-71)
SIGNS - leaflet what we can - the more people we have the more visible we are.
Recently some OSU animal researchers have moved their animals to this location
for housing. When surgeries occur the animals are transported to Sisson Hall.
Thursday April 27th
11:00am - 1:00pm NEIL & 11th
We will be highlighting the research of George Billman who has been running and killing dogs on treadmills since as long as i can remember.
Running For Their Lives!
Thats what the dogs in George Billmans experiments have been doing
for years. In the 80s and
90s he would run the dogs on a treadmill and induce a heart attack. Sometimes
the dogs would be
given cocaine to address the question, does cocaine have a negative impact on
the heart - Duh?
Funding for that work faded but Dr. Billman has continued to run dogs on treadmills,
induce a
heart attack but now wonders if exercise is good for your heart.
This past March Dr. Billman received approval to use an additional 210 dogs
over the next three
years.
Here's a link for additional information http://www.poetwill.org/billman_dogs.htm

Our demonstration at Neil & 11th on April 27th. - The poster asks:
Is Cocaine Bad For Your Heart?
Is Exercise Good For Your Heart?
Most people knew the answers or shook their heads in disbelief that someone at OSU had been and was killing dogs to find those answers.
On 4/17/06, two dogs (ID 2522 & 2546) were delivered to Billman
from Robert Perry, of Mt Sterling. On 4/25/06 dog id#2522 was killed
and on 4/28/06, the day after our demonstration, dog id#2546 was killed.
We passed out over a thousand fliers concerning OSU's use of animals in experimentation.
We also made it easy for people to mail their protest about intubating and
destroying cats for educational tutorials by providing a form letter. The
letter is now available here. Just print out and send in the mail to register
your complaint against the intubation class using animals.
