REMEMBER PRIMATE 0032
Primate 0032 was "found dead in cage" on Nov. 17, 2003. The primate was a control animal in an islet transplant experiment. The primate was found "non-responsive" by an unnamed OSU employee. Glucose was given to the primate however records do not indicate any improvement to the animals health and no further veterinary care is mentioned. Three hours later the primate is found dead in her cage.
Thank you Kristin for bringing the flowers.
Further information about this experiment can be found here. UPDATE: Two more primates have died as a results of these experiments.

The fundraising party held for Mary Jo Kilroy on Thursday, February 19 at the Dragon Fly Restaurant on King Avenue was a wonderful success.
Mary Jo has been remarkable on animal issues as a Franklin County Commissioner
and we'd like to see her keep her seat. She's up against a concerted effort
to get a Republican into that chair and the R's are pouring a lot of money into
her opponent's campaign. It would be a shame if this woman, who is so important
to those of us who do rescue and shelter work, were not allowed to continue
promoting animal welfare and upgrading regulations.
We want to show Mary Jo that her work for the voiceless is appreciated by those
who have voices and wallets. We may not have heavy hitters and lobbyists among
our ranks, but if enough animal lovers contribute small amounts so that she
can get her message out, we can make a difference in balancing the scales and
keep this treasure where she belongs.
