Ohio Animal Rights Conference 2000

Speakers included:
Jim Mason author, environmentalist, journalist and attorney
who specializes in human/animal concerns. He is best known for his 1980 book,
Animal Factories.
Michael Markarian is Executive Vice President of The Fund for Animals, a
national animal protection organization founded in 1967 by Cleveland Amory. Markarian
has appeared on television shows such as CBS Evening News, Hard Copy, and Extra
to discuss hunting issues.
Tina Nelson is Executive Director of the American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS), an
international organization which focuses on issues related to the use of animals in laboratories
and education. Nelson also serves as program consultant for the Alternatives Research & Development
Foundation.
Larry Brown is one of the most outspoken Christians in the state in calling for his fellow
Christians to reassess their attitudes, actions, & interpretations of the scripture in light of
animal treatment today. For ten years he wrote "Through Their Eyes," a local column addressing animal
issues, including the Christian-animal perspective.
