OSU Animal Suppliers
For years Kiser Lake Kennels, located in St. Paris, Ohio, removed hundreds
of dogs from various county animal shelters around the state and provided those
dogs to OSU for research. Following the death of Andy Ball, KISER LAKE KENNELS
- CLOSED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! April 2000
OSU now receives dogs from a variety of sources:
Robert A. Perry, Mt. Sterling, Ohio - Class B Dealer
As of June 2002, approx 75 dogs have been supplied to OSU researchers
To date in 2004 approx. 65 dogs have been received by OSU.
Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio - Research Facility
As of June 2002 - 4 primates and approx. 48 beagles have been supplied to OSU
To date in 2004 34 dogs have been received by OSU. Primates are donated to OSU.
16 primates have been transferred to OSU to date in 2004.
Bioanalytical Systems Inc., Mt. Vernon, Indiana - Research Facility
17 dogs received in 2004.
Ridglan Farms, Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin and Marshall Farms, North Rose, New York
are both USDA Class A dealers.
No new animals in 2004 but they were used in 2003.
Covance Research Products, Inc., Cumberland, Va - Class A Dealer
As of June 2002, approx. 12 dogs have been supplied to OSU researchers.
Last dogs were received by OSU in December 2003.
Springborn Laboratories, Inc., Spencerville, Ohio - Research Facility
As of June 2002, approx 6 dogs have been supplied to OSU researchers.
Last dogs were received by OSU in March 2003.
W.I.L. Laboratories, Ashland, Ohio - Research Facility
As of June 2002, more than 2 dozen beagles have been supplied to OSU.
